Default Connecting a voltmeter to the O2 sensor

I want to take a reading of the O2 sensor using a Voltmeter. Do I connect the red or positive lead of my voltmeter to the white wire and ground the black lead to chassis? Or connect the black lead to another wire of the O2 sensor itself. I need some connection help please. Civic si w/b16a

Yes positive of the meter to the sensor contacts and black of the voltmeter to chasis or battery ground.
