Default Confused for Ecu?

DO i need to get my ecu chipped first before i can add hondata? i thought hondata was its own ecu and replaced my stock one completely, ive been reading some threads but im confused it could be the percoset im on but any help would be greatly appriacted or any links to better explain this to me sorry im such a noob.

Hondata uses your stock ecu.....You socket you stock ecu (if it's supported) and then burn the program onto that chip.

Hondata is nothing more than software you use to burn a chip. It uses your honda ECU and the parts to actually chip the ECU are only a few dollars. The blue box that comes with hondata is just a security device.

I would recommend saving your money and using a free ROM editor instead (uberdata/crome) or find somebody that can tune neptune for ya.
