Default Concerns wit da EGT gauge???

How does the EGT hook up to the car? Does it require any drilling to the exhaust manifold? How do you read the EGT? Lean = high temp and Rich = Low temp?? What's normal temp? And what other gauges are there that are useful to tune your car???

you have to drill the manifold, and tap it to 1/8npt.

Hot=lean, cool=rich but I wouldn't use an EGT gauge as much of a tuning tool. What you really need for tuning is a wideband O2 sensor.

I used my EGT as a safety net to keep an eye on things, and make sure everything was pretty much ok.

Does the wideband 02 sensor also have a gauge to view.

Yes, usually they come with a digital readout meter.

Can you tap the downpipe instead of the manifold?
