Default compressor surge, help!

Here's the deal. I've got an H23 Prelude and Im running the basic FMAX setup. I just got rid of the HKS racing BOV that came with the kit because of the compressor surge I was getting and replaced it with the HKS SSQ. Im still getting compressor surge just as bad with the SSQ. I've tried loosening and tightening the bolt on the BOV and no help. I also re-routed the vaccum line from the 5-way tee I had it going to, to a 3-way tee in hopes of the BOV getting a better vaccum source but still no fix. Someone please help! Thanks

What does the surge feel like? How much are you boosting?

i am not sure you can completely get rid of it, just reduce it to a point that it doesnt hurt the turbo. i can set my bov as soft as it goes and i still get compressor surge.

i think the problem is that the bov doesnt open until the throttle plate is comepletely closed but you get excess back pressure when the throttle is only partly closed.

Yeah well crap thats kinda what I was thinking. I have a vortech bov on the way which I was told would probably do the job because it doesn't take much vaccum to open, don't know how true this is but its about an even swap for my bov so I figure Ill give it a try. Im only running 7psi so you wouldn't think that the bov would have a hard time letting everything out. Ill let you guys know if I take care of this. Thanks
