Default compression results and plug question

Hi,

i did a compression thest, just because i was curious ;-)

#1 160psi
#2 172psi
#3 150psi (140psi in the first attemp)
#4 160psi

the engine was not fully warmed (aprox. 10min running at idle) up so i guess the piston rings will seal a bit better when totaly warm...

what do you think about #3 is it a bit low? its within specification but it is less then the others... something to worry about?

Compression Ratio is 10,2:1 on a B16A1 Engine, Stock internals.

when i pulled the plugs i saw that #2 was hell rich (totaly black, but not oily or something), the others looks normal brown, as they have to look like when idleing at 13:1-13.5:1 AFR but why is #2 so rich?

i installed DSMs, is it possible that the injector of #2 is a bit bigger (no other size, just so that more fuel comes thru it)?

Thanks
Malte.

for a 10.2:1 CR motor, those numbers are very low. Try adding oil into the spark plug holes ... just a little bit.. if the numbers go up, then you know that the piston ring seals are shot

Why are they low? the honda manual says something from 185-135psi is within the normal specification.
i will make a test with a fully warmed engine on sunday and if the numbers are equal i will try some oil...

Any idea with the spark plug?

Thanks

you mean 9:1 or 9,5:1 ?!

if you have build a block, i swear you have brand new piston rings etc... honed the sleeves etc...

my block has 160.000km with first stock pistons... i think you have to remember this or am i wrong?

but when everybody say that i have to have more i will do the test on sunday and see what it brings.
