Default compression ratio after the engine has been built

hi
a friend of mine has bought eagle rods and cp pistons for his Integra LS. b18a1.

the engine has been built by a mechanic who doesnt know much about honda.

now he learned that eagle rods could have been b16 rods.
and he is not sure if the rods are for b16 or b18.
I told him that b16 rods are 3mm shorter than LS rods, however, now the engine has been built already.

Is there a way to check the compression ratio from outside ?
or can it be done via removing one of the rods and check without removing the head ?

Thanks

i'm not sure but i think if you spin the block and get the piston to the top, it should be flushed with the sleeve. if it sits lower then the sleeve then that should answer your question.

looks like the pistons are just under the deck surface which is where they are supposed to be for proper piston to head clearence, i would have to say you have the correct rods in there. if they were B16 rods you would have a bit of distance from top of piston to top of block deck

yeah i agree..seems to be pretty close to the top of the deck....that motor should run fine.
