Default compression fitting at boost gauge

hey guys

do these 1/8" compression fittings (accepts a small stiff nylon tube, you put a little brass sleeve over it and screw together) require teflon tape to make an airtight seal? i think i'm hearing a slight pssshhhhh noise from my boost gauge! the pressures seem right though, so it must be very slow if it's there at all. i don't really see where the tape should go besides on the threads - does the little ball make a tight seal with the hollow nut just from tightening it?

You don't want to put any teflon tape on compression fittings.

But since it is leaking...JB Weld the sumbitch.

Those nylon tubes always seem to crack. It took me a while to narrow down my vacuum leak to that damn boost gauge.

That is the best reason to buy a good greddy, apexi etc... gauge and not deal with the crappy lines in the first place!!
