Default compression?

just curious what kinda compression u guys are running w/ ur turbo cars? i was considering going from my stock ls 9.2 to maybe a stock gsr piston head which i think raises it up to a 10.1? i'm exactly but my friends are saying that's too high.. i was then again thinking about all those gsr's running their stock compression on boost and seem to run ok.. only thing i'm thinkin about is higher compression = more power.. witht he pistons i do plan on getting some rods.. i was considering the crower connecting rods unless u guys think there are better ones out? i have a stock B18a engine in my car.. any info would help.. thanks

i ran on 10:1 compression @ 14psi on pump gas. A car with higher compression running the same amt of boost as compared to a car running 9.2:1, will yield more power.

I just saw this the other day,
LS Rod :5.394" and fraile big end
GSR Rod: 5.429" and a lot beefier Big end
Pretty noticeable, HTH
My favorites are Carillo, Ferrea and Oliver

But High Comp Turbo car is the ****. Have to do pump gas.....Lower the boost. Still have a decent NA car instead of 9:1 slug

It all depends on how much boost you are going to put out. If your going to push out 7psi then you wont need pistons or rods, it wouldnt hurt but you really dont need it. If however you going to be pushing over 10psi then get yourself rods and pistons.

10:1 compression ISNT too high for a daily driver running 7-8psi.

Dude you won't have any problems as long as your setup is right. I've run 14psi on 10.4:1 on pump gas (1/4 mile bursts...not long distances, of course). 10.0:1 is not high at all, I wouldn't sweat it.

kinda in theory, but not in reality...simply because the SOHC internals aren't as strong as the DOHC internals...so they can't really handle the stresses the DOHC can
