compression is 120's across the board and i have no power
i misshifted at the track last week and thought i just blew my headgasket some, it was eating up coolant gradually on the way home and smoking, but it wasnt too bad. so the next day i put in a new headgasket. i went to take it for a drive and it had absolutely no power at all, it was as if the motor was under an extreme amount of load and taking off in first felt like taking off in fifth. it wasnt like this on the way home from the track, only after i changed the headgasket. i then did a compression test and it was 120ish across the board. i also noticed that after the engine got up to operating temp i can hear a slight knock/tick, and it speeds up with the rpms. is there a chance i spun a bearing or is it most likely bent valves or something?

motor is prolly done, spun a bearing or bent some valves, u should have done a compression test before the head gasket

yeah thats a good possibility, timing belt skipping teeth because if all 4 cylinders are reading same compression it had to effect the entire motor and not just individual cylinders.

that's my vote. probably more then a few teeth off.
the tick could be an exhaust leak. or it could be a bearing...hard to say with so little info.

cam timing off is my vote
if it changed when you did the HG think about WHAT CHANGED during that process you didnt hurt the valves or bottom end changing the headgasket.
was it weak before the HG? or after

Re: compression is 120's across the board and i have no power (agrn93ls)
I miss a shift last year, when I pull the head I can't see anything.
Once the pistons were clean, all 8 ex valves hit the pistons and 6 of the curb.
2 were very curb. This pistons read 30 psi less than the others.
Turn your head upside down and drop some paint thinner in it, if it's leak in the port, than some valves don't close correctly.
