Default complexity of wideband o2?

hello everyone. for my senior electrical engineering design project i was hoping to develop a wideband o2 system. just like some feedback from ya'll so i guess basically an mpu process info coming from o2 and in return takes that data sends a combination of binary digits which then pop up an air/fuel ration number.
anyone with extensive knowledge on this. just wondering the diffuculty scope of this project.
i'd have to
develop o2 sensor
use mpu to take info and process and number
thanks.

The hard part isn't converting an analog voltage into a digital signal and displaying a number corresponding to A/F. THe hard part is developing the analog control system for the wideband o2 sensor. A wideband o2 sensor is really two o2 sensors, one operated in reverse. The pump cell is driven with a pump current that in turn generates o2 which is sensed by the second sensor which is operated in the normal way. The pump cell current is set bywhether the second cell voltage is reading lean or rich. The control system adjusts the pump current in such a way that the second sensor always reads stoich. It ain't easy but if you are good with analog circuits you can do it.
