Default Completed Results of our D Series Head Porting Project (56K Beware)

Flow chart for D Series increases

Flow results

Pix of test

The work done to the ZC or D series cylinder Heads Stage 1 package:

This package is mainly aimed at street performance engines using turbocharging or nitrous oxide.

Exhaust ports are bowl blended and the guides are radius ground for more airflow. The exhaust Ports are ground offset toward the center of the chamber and sanded to smooth the exhaust entry from the combustion chamber. The runner volume is increased by only about 12-15 cc's to help airflow without sacrificing port velocity.
The exhaust valves are ground with a 45 degree seat and a 30 degree undercut to help low and mid lift airflow.
The exaust seats are cut using competition specs including a 38 degree top cut, a 45 degree seat and a 52 degree bottom radius. The seat width is .051" to aid in thermal heat dissapation away from the valve.

Intake ports are blended and bowls are ground offset towrads the center of the combustion chamber to encourage maximum swirl of the intake charge. The Runner volume is only slightly changed and is done so only to bias the port flow direction. The intake valves are ground with 45 degree seats and 30 degree undercut to aid in low and mid-lift flow.
Intake seats are cut using competion specs including a 38 degree top cut, a 45 degree seat, and a 52 degree bottom radius. The seat width is .039" to aid in maximum airflow into the cylinder.

The combustion chambers have been relieved near the corners in an effort to unshroud the valves and produce stronger low and mid lift flow and reduce turbulence in the ports. The chambers have also been smoothed to eliminate potential hot spots aiding in detonation protection.

Package also includes, hot tank, pressure test, 3 valve job and surface on our state of the art head equipment.

This is Strader Performance. The D Stage1 Package is ready to go. It includes the rebuild and porting job.

The basic hot tank, surface, pressure test and 3 angle valve job costs $260. The porting adds another $300 to the cost. We cannot do the porting without doing the valve job. But you can do just the valve job if desired. We would need to add shipping on top.
The next steps will be to add .5mm over sized valves and/or springs and retainers. Not quite ready to quote prices on this yet. Can use your new springs or valves if you have them

Do you have cores? Just so if I get it done, I can't really afford any down time.

Would like to think turnaround would be 3 to 5 days.

AWSOME!

I am seriously looking into sending you my spare ZC head for the full works!
I will keep you in mind once it gets closer to that time....

BTW, It would AWSOME if you could get .5mm over size valves, along with high RPM springs/titanium retainers... (ZCgasim)

I can't seem to find good prices on ss valves or spring/retainer kits for the D.

Yeah, the valves would most likely have to be made from scratch, or made from machined down LS valves.

Oh well, I could live with out them.

Great work Earl....
