Cold Fire -- Anyone use this stuff?
OK, so I was watching Hill-Billy TV today, whoops, I mean TRUCKS!
Unfortunately project crazy horse wasn't on the show, but that is beside the point.
At the end when they have the new products he showed this **** called Cold Fire. It comes either as an aresol can or in a fire extinguisher type setup. It was developed to put out oil fires but has been found useful other places.
He blowtorched a few things and picked them up right after doing it with the cold fire on them. My mind started rolling with possible apps for this stuff, but there was no REAL info on how it worked or how long it lasted once applied.
Anyone have any info?

sounds like hailon (sp..
) gas or something similar in design.
my brother ran a hailon (sp) system in his pootang that was all setup for road races. never used it though...

Naw, I done saw that there TV progrem too.
I like project "Copper Head" much better. Back on track, my buddy was talking about something similiar to Cold FIre a while back saying that it is alot better than a normal extinguisher cause it leaves no residue burnt on after putting out a fire. Asfar as what I saw on the show it seemed pretty cool and alot easier than having an extiguisher mounted in my car.

that "key board cleaner spray stuff" is extremly cold too. would be god for spraying an intercooler/charge pipes, intake manifold before a run. i dunno how well it would put a fire out though.
i watched it this morning . awsome product i was gonna get a can and use it to spray my charge pipes and turbo after runs...... he lit a rag on fire , then put the fire out with cold fire , then tried to light the rag again and it wouldnt light......he explained that you could spray it on rear ends etc... to reduce temps....

Keyboard cleaner may be cold, but I would definetely not use it to put out a fire, it'll only cause the fire to grow bigger. Super crazy flammable and when it burns it puts out extremely noxious fumes.
Also, it could work for spraying an intercooler etc, but it doesn't last very long, the cool temperatures on the item last for maybe 10 seconds before it has evaporated and is no longer cold to the touch.
