Default code 71, and icky rings.

well, it was bound to happen. i spent all friday night at 8psi, many many races, including some top end runs against zulaters 01 Z28(damn my car runs hard over 120) and then spent the whole morning on 5psi at the auto-X(damn i never thought i could spin a fwd car so easy). im throwing a 71 now, even with new plugs and reseated wires. at the autocross i also noticed smoke from the breather vent, and mucho black crap from the tailpipe, all over the back of the car. i also threw the dipstick, making a really cool smoke show, but thats just because of the wonderfull drag manifold melting the seal. so im doing a compression test this morning, but anyone have any guesses on the damage? BTW, 97 ITR drag 3,

dont have manual handy - think its detecting general missfire, makes some sense with the problems you are having, if comp test is good , check, timing belt marks, ingnition and fuel are all working on each cylinder - the missfire is probably detonation on one or more cylinders.
