Default Clutchmasters FX500

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a clutch that can hold 600whp. Do you think a CM FX500 will be able to hold 600 whp or lets day 140MPH in a 2500 lbs integra?

What do you think about the sintered iron disk on a stock tranny?

Holding 600whp on the dyno wouldn't be a problem. Racing a 2500lb car on slicks with 600whp probably would. If it did work, I don't think you'd get much life out of the clutch on the track.

the sintered disc cant be street drivien. its designed for in and out only. with the amount of slipping required for daily driving it puts alot of heat into the clutch and the sintered disc breaks apart

i've driven this clutch for quite some time on the street. It's possible and it will not fall apart, but it will eat up flywheels and from compfort point of view it is VERY undrivable in normal traffic. I would not recomment it for any street application.

I just had to use it because CM sended me the wrong clutch (wanted a stage4) and i had a broken clutch so i had to use it to keep my car running.

Get the FX400 with 4 puck which will easily handle that HP and on the street it's better then OEM. love this clutch. Also get the clutchmaster flywheel with the steel outer teeth and you will never look at anything else again. I also hope you have some good axles
