Default Clutch recommendation?

Gonna have an 80 shot of NOS on my ITR. Wondering what clutch you all recommend to upgrade to. I know stiffer holds more power, but a little comprimise would be nice. I could handle some stiffness, but I dont want it to be uncomfortable as I have to deal with LA taffic on occation. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Jon

ACT Extreme pressure plate with Organic street disk. It has a nice feel to it and grabs good. It's not to stiff if it's on a hydro tranny.

Heard the ACTs have problems sometimes. Mixed opinions on it, but I may try it out. What do you think of the 4puck they make?

What do you all think of clutchmaster clutches?

I havent had any problems with my ACT, I love it. I'm about to get another one for my Corolla. the only complaint I have is that the 6 and 4 puck arent available with a sprung hub. and having an unsprung hub on a street car is just ***.

Try the ClutchNet clutch for your Corolla. I guarantee you'll never go ACT again.

I broke my ACT clutch (extreme pp /w organic full disk) launching on my slicks at the track (something I do every week)... I have 25,000 miles on it and I called ACT and they are replacing it at no charge... I would definately recomend them... I have 360 whp and the street disk holds it without slipping, and it engages completely smoothly... I launch at redline /w 8" slicks and it has lasted 25,000 miles before it gave up...
go ACT in my opinion!!

So you all recommend an ACT extreme pressure plate with street disc. Is that all I need? Will it be MUCH stiffer than the stock ITR clutch?

Thanks,
Jon

the 6 puck will be harsh due to un-sprung hub.

Actually im running a HD PP with 6 puck and I like it. Grabs hard and pedal stiffness is similar to stock.

Harsh? as in it does engage smooth?

isnt that disk unsprung hub? those usually engage a little bit rough for a street car. I remember my friend had one on his RX-7 and when it was wet it would break the tires loose every time he would try to just move the car.

Hey Ben, my Accord weighs 2100 lbs, 475 hp to the wheels and 395 torque to the wheels(Turbocharged H22a), i'm using 13x24.5x8 Mickey T's are their any applications for my race car? I personally love my ACT....Oh yeah- to answer the above topic ACT all the way unless you can sell me on something new.

hmm, that's actually good to know. I might just get a 6puck ACT for my Corolla then. It's not really going to be daily driven anyway.

So,

I'm still a bit confused... which clutch should I go with for my ITR that will be putting out about 230whp?

Thanks,
Jon

Those clutchnet clutches sound good. Since importparts.com is selling them for $300, I'm sure it works fine, and it has a sprung hub so it engages smoother.

My ACT 6 puck is actully quiet IMO that is cause I dont hear it. Im curious does ACT have a warranty?

AccordKing: Can I come by to check out your car? Im from Frisco.
