Default Clutch issue

Anyone ever see a clutch grind out the pressure plate and flywheel like this?

Whoa...

It's kinda hard to see in the pic, but it looks like the pp and flywheel wore down but the clutch dish didn't! LoL... what's that disk made out of?

My 6 puck clutch did the same thing. Ate up the flywheel and pressure plate with little wear to the disc.

Yes it is Spec and your right the disc is like new yet will barely engage do to the destruction of the flywheel and pressure plate, This was suppose to be a street disc, That is after 25,000 miles of street driving. They are not standing behind it at all. They claim I must have a defective factory flywheel. I don't know what the deal is with the hosting but I have a bunch of pictures, some show it better than others.

I want to post them all as a warning to not buy from them. Or atleast know what your getting a head of time.

well... its not the clutch/disk's fault, the just the nature of the disk. buy a new one, don't cry about it.

yeah it sucks.. If this is considered normal wear then that is fine, but I was told this was a street disc, It is assumed it would last like a normal street clutch, If I would have known I would get a year and a half out of it then I never would have bought it. It's not like it was cheap, I think I paid over $400 for it and now I need a new flywheel $250 and a new clutch, I'm running a stage 2 this time.

they told me they sell hundreds of these and I am the first one to have this problem. Does anyone else have a similar problem with the stage 3 clutches?

hope mine does not turn out the same way (just finishing the break in)... although from the look of the pic, I am running a different 6 puck disc with my stage 3.

The only reason I am not happy is I wasn't told it would last this long, if I had been it would be no big deal. I would not have bought it. I was told by Spec that for a street car this was the disc I wanted. They said nothing about premature wear or killing the other parts. Had they I would have gone with a normal disc.

I would be a bit mad too if they told me that was the recommended disc to use and then this... call them up and ask about it, and they blow you off saying it must have been your flywheel... bahhhh sounds like weak manufacturer bs, they dont like to make anything easy.

You need some CSI **** to prove what the really happened to clutch in question... anyone got a friend or something?

i had the same thing happen to my RPS. The disc completely ate away the PP and the flywheel, so i have to get a whole new assembly. Except Im pretty sure it was the flywheel being warped.

Ill be giving RPS another chance and going with a segmented heat shield on my PP just incase. Hopefully it all works out.
