Default Clutch

I found a exedy stage 2 locally for a damn good price (240 brand new)

I am seriously considering picking this up but I read 3 puck cluthes can damage your transmission?

If not, I am considering a CC stage 5 for 320 off of ebay.

Thoughts?

shooting for 300whp within the next two weeks, and 400+whp around summer.

exedy stage 2 is rated at 285ftlbs of torque, and the CC stage 5 is rated at 300% (390ftlbs) Would it be wise just to go with the CC stage 5?

One more question, hopefully yall read this. I have a 3" downpipe to 2 1/4 cat, then 2 1/4 cat back, will this be restrictive for 300whp? I am thinking so. If it is, I planned on buying a cut out, because my cat is 2 1/4 and so is my resonator.

Thanks

The exedy wont hold. Get the comp stage 5 and be done with it.

The exhaust is going to be very restrictive, you neer go from larger to smaller it bottle necks and kills performance. you would have better results with all the same size or smaller dp and larger exhaust. with turbo setup bets to have 2.5" minimum.

yes it will. For the Exedy, you just have to get the right part number for the higher torque amount.. Exedy Part number 8950B. Takes over 400whp and 300ft/lbs of torque. And yes, I've done it with that clutch..

A Comp stage 5 is complete overkill and knock your teeth out.. Reasonable parts for reasonable goals.

For 400+ the stage 4 is great for street but for track abuse staff 5 is needed IMO

What would you recommend for a D16 with an otherwise stock S8G transmission w/MFactory LSD (189 HP @ 11 psi. on T3/T4 .63?, go-autoworks kit). I have a brand-new Exedy Stage 1 on 8 lb. flywheel and it slips at launch. Tires are Michelin MO1 185/65/14 (van tires) with less than 2K miles. Dyno tuned on AEM F/IC with P2E ECU.

Yes, I know this is odd-ball equipment but it's what I have to work with. Thanks!!

You're talking Drag strip right? We need to figure out if he's going more for street or drag strip with this.
