Clutch 101 by Rocket
a little off topic but, my buddy has an action clutch that went out and the local shop he bought it from has taken over 3 months to get him a new one, does anyone have the phone # for Action or know anyone that can help us out?

I just wished the pics were working.

most of the pictures are still up there.
I have a question about the flywheel warping, on average how long would this take? Given my car is a daily driver, and I do plan on eventually taking road trips with my car, I can't have flywheels self destructing mid trip.
After all the reading, I guess I settled on the 2MD Action clutch, which i'm hoping is suitable for my 200whp daily/270-280whp max on a b16a with LSD transmission. Would this be a suitable decision?

my 2MS was great for my B16 (84.5mm) with an LSD, but after 21k miles my pressure plate cracked in 3 spots, maybe I should call action and see what they think.

Anybody here ever use the SPEC Honda clutches or in other vehicles? Is the quality comperable to other brands? They come with a high-pressure pressure plate with optional lightening. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I use their stage 3 right now and it is pretty impressive for the coin... holding the power I am making without a problem and damn smooth for a 4 puck. easily street driven... pedal pressure is a little more stiff than stock but not bad at all.
we shall see how long it holds up... so far...

Just wanted to say I have an Action Dual Diaphram pressure plate and Kevlar race disc for my turbocharged b16 S1 cable tranny. I am very happy. The pressure needed to depress the clutch is a stiff solid feel and yet you can still find the point of engagement easily when driving on the street.
i am in the market for a clutch to go in my dd/drag racing turbo d16. what does everyone think about the lsd motorsports clutch kits? how do they hold up on the street and the drag strip?

Yeah just since I spoted this thread back from the dead and I remember I posted this... I thought I would update.
The clutch made it about 1000 miles before I pulled it out to check it cause it felt like it has not grabbing hard on shifts... needless to say the thing looks like a rainbow. I guess I had some slippage, not to mention the nasty grooves it put in the flywheel.
Some people say they have good luck with these, others get what I got... so whatever the case I will be trying something a little stronger anyways since I will be making a little more power now than then.

this thread is old school.
I wonder if any of the lesser clutch companies have improved there quality?
Are there any new companies out since this thread was made?
