bought supertech valves... nitride coated stainless... stock sized

need some questions answered about springs/retainers
do i want dual springS?

do people stay brand specific? or are springs/retainers all the same basically?

Springs and retainers are not all the same. You have some that make the TI retainer with a cheaper Russian ti and you also have choices in spring rates as well. I would stick with Supertech parts. Just make sure you get the matching spring for the retainer. If the spring doesn't perfectly clip onto the retainer, it tends to wear a retainer out as the spring can wiggle around.

well imho, the best springs out there are indy's, followed by ferreas, and then skunk2, followed by supertech, crower, kms, and cant think of who else. jun and toda are up there but are mainly for bragging rights.
i went with the skunk2 0.5mm oversize valves standard compression along with skunk2 springs, and skunk2 retainers. i was gonna get the pro series springs but they are more for all motor setup. heres my head:
