JE and SRP are the same thing. Its just that one of them is off the shelf item.
SRP is to JE as Honda is to Acura.
SRP is to JE as Honda is to Acura.

je and srp pistons are the same except for some things, like the oiling holes near the piston pin bore, lighter design , and stronger struture on the under side of the dome area, they also both have the same piston pin, srp's are just a cheaper design of the je's

Hmm while all this is nice the main difference is the alloy they are made out of. SRP's are a high silicon content piston which will expand less then a JE piston when they are heated up. The allows you to run tighter piston-wall clearance for less slapping, however, they are not as strong as regular JE's

Ahh, Brian and I have refuted this crap a thousand times.
JE and SRP pistons ARE NOT THE SAME THING.
STOP SPREADING MISINFORMATION.
Thanks.

Re: JE racing pistons or SRP pistons? (93B17A)
sorry to say but the srp's uses the same alloy as the je's depending on the applications, number 1 reason why the srp's are cheaper is because it goes through less of the machining process than the je's does, things like symmetrical valve pockets, universal installations(some apps.), etc......overall they are the same, take a look at a je and a srp piston(imports or domestics) and you will see what i'm talking about, i see these pistons everyday at work so, you can agree or disagree, oh....piston slap will be noticable when the engine is cold
