which chip burner do i buy for uberdata
Yes the Romulator will work with Uberdata. It emulates a chip so that you can make changes in real time (Uberdata cant tune in RT, but Hondata Can) and the romulator will hold the program. You can't drive around like that all the time unless you want to keep burning the program to the romulator because the Romulator can only hold the program for so long (12 hours or something).

ok what chips is it you use for the honda ecu's ive heard the 29c256 chips are good, but they are direct replacements for the 27c256, so does this mean the 29c chip is better for a honda ecu? and what is the lowest kbits and speed u really need? also does anyone know where i can buy bulk packs of these?
oh yeah i also bought moates burner for $85 but im only a beginner learning to fiddle with this thing....looking for all the help i can get in this area as it is something i really strive to learn more about!!!

yes the 29c256 is better than the 27c and is a straight trade, and u can prolly talk to Craig Moates about buying in bulk, he's a cool guy and probably will give u a good deal or u can try Ebay ive seen a few auctions for bulks of them.

yeah it'll hold for 12 hrs but it can be plugged into a AC/DC converter in your whip haha but it is usually used for the track and tuning, you load up your basemaps then tune them wherever u are then save the file and u can open it only when u tune or run or u can burn it onto a chip and run it or use the chip with the basemaps again. Sorry if it got confusing

Just to edit what I said. uberdata cannot yet do RTP (Real Time Programming) with the Romulator. You still have to keep loading in the ROM after you save the bin file.

The Batronix 3.3 is pretty good, that's what I am using. However, it's a bit of a pain because sometimes you need to try a few times to get the chips to come out right. I don't know if the Moates burner has the same issue, but I doubt it because I have not heard anything of the sort.</TD></TR></TABLE>
By try a few times, what you meant to say is sometimes it takes 30 minutes or more to burn one chip. And no, blowing into the burner like a nintendo does not always work.

the main problem with the batronix burners (at least the parallel port model) is that the 29CXX series chips need to be burnt within a certain amount of time....kind of like burning a CD: if your system interrupts it, there are going to be errors. well, i guess windows has a tendancy to interrupt the parallel port from time to time, and as a result, each time it happens when burning, the whole process must be restarted and the data resent. the difference between the parallel port version and the USB version is that the USB has on board memory so that the ROM image is first transfered to the memory in the burner, and then it is burned to the chip where there are no interrupts. i believe this feature is in the moates burner as well, because i've never had to wait a long time (it seems to burn on the first try in under 10 seconds).

ya I am 99% positive they havent finished this yet. You can do datalogging now but from their site you cant do RTP. I believe Crome you can but I am not positive, and Hondata you definitely can do it.
