Had a few customers hit 300hp on 7psi. You will pretty much see the effect when you test them and have a read out of the intake temp. I believe someone just did this and the difference was 20 degrees cooler ( with the name brand )

If you look at the interior and exterior fins of an ebay fmic and then at a precision or garrett core, you'll notice there's like twice the fins. Meaning you need a bigger 'named' core to flow X amount of air, but you need a bigger ebay core to get the same IAT's. Most 350+ whp projects have enough money invested where another $200 will not make a dent in the price.

Maybe I'm using one of the eBay cores as well and I cracked the #4 sleeve... I don't think the IC is cooling enough, or maybe the IAT wasn't reading fast enough. I haven't determined the cause of it blowing, not saying the IC blew my engine at all, but it's one more "possible" cause of detonation.

Throwing my 2c in there I'm looking to replace with a high-quality core whenever I get it running with high boost again.

Heatsoaked intake manifold. One of those things I always meant to change and never did
