Checking Oil Level
**First off, I did do a quick search.**
Reasoning for confusion:
When checking the M5's oil level, I referred to the manual to see exactly how they like it to be checked and added to. I'd rather not blow up an ~$80K car haha. The manual stated that I should let it idle up to operating temperature first. Then I am supposed to turn the car off for one minute and check the level.
This makes sense to me because if you check it when it's dead cold, then you might be a little low when the oil is circulating in the engine.
Question:
Should I follow this sort of procedure...mainly because if it's circulating for a bit then the oil cooler lines and feed lines will have oil in them. Then I can see how much I want in the pan. Does this make sense to you guys?
