check engline light cause limp mode?
I just gutted my cat out, (meow) and now once the motor gets nice and warm I throw a check engline light. Im almost positive its the O2 seosor. Anyways, I havent had time to check it out...
im not toooo familiar with the word "limp mode" but I thought it would be approaite in this usage. Since the check engine light came on, does that mean my motor is running in a sort of "limp" mode? I know for other cars, like my buddies scooby, that his car WILL run in limp mode...so, thanks in advance i appreciate your input.

a o2 sensor cel certainly would cause the car to run in limp mode. It does this to make sure the engine doesn't blow up because it has no way to determine the a/f ratio with the o2 messed up.
well, a CEL from a secondary check engine light seems, by the seat of the pants, to not really hinder performance..i've had one before, and it didn't seem to do jack as far as performance is concerned..
Are you sure it is NOT the map sensor throwing the CEL under boost. You are boosted right? Do you have the "missing link" installed? My Greddy turbo GSR throws the light after about a day after reset. I am too lazy to install the missing link along with all the other parts I have lying around. (that is the drawbacks of working too much!!) My GSR will still crack a 12 with slicks @ 10 psi with the CEL on. I don't think that is very limp! The CEL is just annoying
the cat o2 sensor will throw a cel but wont put it in limp mode (safety mode)
