check engine code 43, and hesitation in no-boost???help!!!!
whats up i have a 98 gsr, DRAG gen 3 kit, new fmu, holley forced induction pump and FPR, RC 310's with obd1 gsr injector plugs, stock block and head,, no other fuel management except the fmu with the 8 to 1 disc in it,,..... now my question is i got CEL 43 a few times in the last few days the first time one of the injector o rings was leaking,, fixed it drove around all day no CEL,,, then tonight got it again,, changed the o2 sensor and for now no CEL,,, can my injectors be bad, they are about a year old with about 30k on them,,,can they be fried from running high fuel pressure?? i did that for a while last year, also the car is hesitating outside of boost, but when it boosts its fine, not bad hesitation, t sounds like little pops and blurps,,, no problem boosting though,,,, can someone tell me whats up??? oh its in a 93 hatch running obd1 uce, thanks guys

thats what i think but how can i rule out that its the injectors?? do you think the injectors are bad, i mean, thats the only thing i havent replaced since i had this lean out condition in the summer time,, i replaces everything else,,,,,,, and also i got that CEL 43 when the injector was leaking, so how could i possibly be running rich if the injector was actually leaking?? also wouldnt i get CEL 16 for injectors??? i dont know let me know
thanks
thanks

You're running to rich, period.
Too much flow past the 310cc during cruise, the ECU tries to correct but the mix ends up skewed rich so it clicks the code 43. You'll only click an injector code if there's a bad connection or the resistances are way off.
When you go from closed loop cruise to WOT, but are not in boost yet, you bog because you are too damn rich.
This guy's probably done an solid job getting an FMU to work at a mild boost level, so the car runs well in boost, but this is a good example of how you get problems cropping up elsewhere if you don't have an eye to the big picture.

I had the same problem as you a while back. The car would barely run correctly with the 310 injectors set at 0 on the V-AFC. I remember leaning out the AFC about 20% or so to make it run correctly. Hope this helps.
