Admit it.. you want one

http://www.homemadeturbo.com jeff (site owner) did it and then ended up beating it with a baseball bat look in tech projects they dont do ****. They don't move as much air as your engine even sucks- they are a restriction never mind helpful. You risk overspinning the fans by pulling more air through it than it can move, having the thing fall apart on you, and get sucked into your motor... bad bad bad.
Actually, several OEMs are working on electric superchargers currently for use in sub 2.0 liter turbo vehicles. On high load low rpm situations, before the boost hits, they can lend and extra 15% power output, if I am remembering correctly. They are only designed to run for a few seconds - the car battery + charging system can't handle anything more.
The stuff you're sold as aftermarket universal applications is complete and utter crap.

According to the ad, it has an independent electrical system.

The thing takes 18hp worth of electric motors to run, the electrical load must be insane. I assume they expect you to power it from extra batteries which you will be waiting to recharge for a while after your 15 sec run, no way our alternators or batters could push a constant 15,000 watts at 12vs. If anything this is good for showing how much it would take for an electric supercharger to actually do something.

also how are you to supply extra fuel for something like this... it does not seem to even address that.
you could run pig rich all the time until you turn it on for 15 seconds...

Dude the honda electric car (was in wired magazine) is a monster.
It has 4 motors, one per wheel, and NO loss via transmission/clutch.

Couldn't find it in wired magazine... maybe it was car and track or something.
