Cheap Ebay Map Sensor Test - Epic Failure
But that's the beauty of Honda in general. They ALWAYS push their parts "past specs". They overengineer EVERYTHING. You name one other manufacturer that can use their over-the-counter parts and create hp with the same internals over 150% over their normal use AND STILL RUN EFFECTIVELY..
ARP is another example. Do you honestly think we're going to do over 150% of the tensile strength these were originally made for with our silly daily driven boosted cars? What happened to overengineering? or getting it done in a way that you don't expect it to fail? I'm sorry Malcolm, i honestly think you keep your standards too low sometimes inside expectations. Perhaps its a domestic car thing, perhaps its just your experience over the years where you don't expect things to go past the "normal" parameters.
This is why Japanese models for decades have dominated and only because of their own greed have they lost their edge and the American counterpart has finally caught up.. I dunno.. perhaps I'm to inebriated right now.

The pics are somewhere, Toyota said it was one of the worst cases that they had seen
And every part, no matter what it is, is tested beyond its rated limit, its called the failure point.., that's why things have a usage limit, which is normally far enough below the failure point to insure reliable, long term usage.

they should post these vids on every individual ebay item page....
keep faulty parts off the road
Yup. I have wondered what happens if you turbo charge your average ford focus motor or standard dodge neon or cavalier etc. Wonder how much boost or power they can take before they blow up. I would assume not much of anything just based on how often I see them... never. Be interesting to look up some day as I'm sure it's been tried a bunch and results are probably on the net if you search hard enough.
Its called safety factor and quality, because they know some ******* is gonna push the thing to its breaking point and they want to make it last.
