chattering noise from tranny
hey if anybody knows what going on with my tranny it would help me alot. i have a 1995 turbo gsr and when the car is siting there in neutral with the clutch out it makes a chattering/knocking nose but when i push the clutch in it goes away. i can here it when i am slowing down with the clutch in and i am slowly puting it into 1st gear and when i take off it makes the nose too but if i am siting there with the clutch pushed in there is no nose at all. there is no gringing or poping out of gear at all too. some say it might be the input shaft bearing and some others say it might be the throwout bearing. is there anything i can do to make the tranny stonger i am running a gen 3 turbo kit on it with a jun 12lb flywheel and a act extrem plate with a kevlar disk

Mine makes a cricket sound and it does the same way what you've mentioned and goes away when the clutch is pushed all the way in or just a quarter in. It goes away once the car is driven few miles and I also have an ACT clutch street setup and new throwout and pilot bearing. It's kinda annoying but still does the job.
it sounds louder then a cricket. it sounds like there is something moving around in there dont know if it is a throwout bearing or if it if internal or the tranns
