Default Ceramic coating manifolds/ turbine housing/ etc...

Been working with a local friend on some new parts for my junk and got me to thinking about ceramic coating a manifold, turbine housing, and downpipe.

Curious if people who have coated parts might be willing to share their experiences. Who you used, what coating you did, quality/ durability, etc... ??? Any pictures anyone would like to share are welcomed.

Also had TheShodan coat my exhaust housing and manifold; really nice stuff. Only thing I'd say is be careful installing it, it scratches. Otherwise looks a thousand times better than rusted metal.

you can use wd40 and fine steel wool to get the little scratches out

the turbine housing he coated 8 years ago still looks brand new

I've used Jet-Hot and TheShodan for manifold coatings. The Jet-Hot Sterling Silver coating sucked *** and started to burn off my manifold and become dull despite my logged EGTs were far below their temp rating. TheShodan's silver coating has lasted far better on the same manifold. The satin/shiny coatings don't have as high of a temp rating as the matte colored coatings do.

I've also used Swaintech for piston coatings because they are local to me. They are expensive but very durable. I've also used Wiseco's in-house ceramic coating for pistons which is not as durable but is much cheaper and faster.

Hrm, might have to PM TheShodan to get some more information about what he is offering.

Heard good things about Swaintech as far as quality but nothing about their price or lead time.

Also had some people recommend Tirado Coatings, anyone tried them?
