I finally found out why my car is running rich, I had the hoses on the FMU mixed up. Now that I fixed that another problem has arisin. My CEL has come on and it is showing a #3 . This is the MAP sensor. Ok here is the problem. The car is now seems to be backfiring at idle the exhaust is kind of grey. This proably means it is running lean. the car is still idling kind of funny, like the **** is skipping or somthing.

 

I'm not sure if this could happen with SC's as well, but your map sensor could have seen more boost than it likes to. Same thing happens with turbo. Does it code only after you're getting on it?

 

so my Map sensor is raeding to much vaccum? Is that what would also cause it to run lean?

 

How much boost are you running? Did you install any sort of map check valve or the JR Map controller?

 

Are you talking about the small black box. If you are that goes to the TPS sensor I don't think I received any map controller From Jackson Racing!

 

the map controller is a product that is sold separately by JR to prevent tip-in detonation when using an FMU. however, not having this is not what your CEL problem is.....do you have the map sensor hooked up to see boost or not? if you're using an FMU then make sure the map sensor is not seeing boost.

 

how would I go about and prevent the MAP sensor from not seeing boost?
