I am wondering which ignition to choose - Msd or Crane or other CDI unit? I am building H series engine and i am going to boost it over 35psi of boost.
Msd are well know but they state spark energy for a single spark is 100-300mj. The crane units have sequence with 1200mj energy. After certain rpm both units switch to single spark mode. For Msd it is 100-300mj. I sent an email to crane to ask them what will happen at high rpm when it switches to a single spark mode? They told me that the single spark energy then will be 1200mj.
What would you advice me? Is Crane better than msd in single spark mode?
