Default Catch Can Install Help

This is a picture of the underside of my B series valve cover. The top of the picture is the end facing the front of the car. You can see there is some sort of baffle there held on by 4 rivits or something. This is the side I want to install the two A-N fittings. Is there a problem drilling and welding on this side of the cover because of the baffle? Thanks

Isn't that the most common spot for the bungs usually? I don't see there being an issue

thats how i did mine.. just make sure you THOROUGHLY wash it out.. after i drilled both holes i rinsed it out with a hose, then i took it in the house and filled up my bathtub and rinsed it through that.. then took it back out and took a hose to it... any metal shavings left inside of it could cause complete distruction to your engine.. and i'm sure you dont want that. hope this helps

Cool. Thanks a lot for the info and advice! I didnt think it would be an issue since so many people weld it there, I just wanted to make sure.

Most people drill vents there BECAUSE of the baffle. It helps make sure you only vent vapor, and not liquid oil that could get flung up there by the rockers/cams.

Use a shortened 1/4" pilot drill on a hole saw to avoid drilling through the baffle. Also, if you have a ramhorn manifold, the -12AN plumbing may have some interference with the manifold; -10AN should work fine though. (taken from my personal experience using -12AN ports with a Full-Race Prostreet manifold).

Thanks for the advice. Luckily I have -10 fittings. I'm going to drill and weld this weekend
