get one from ben... he has a good deal on one. you still need to get the flanges welded on though.
i have one and so far its cool. ive heard bad things about the carsound cats lately as well.. but i havent had a problem yet.

I don't know what Ben's selling them for now, but when I bought mine the cheapest around was that guy on Ebay. I just checked and can't find his username, but after doing a search for "carsound" there's another place selling the 94006 model among others (the one I used to have - 2.5") for $57.69 shipped. 5498 feedback w/99.9% rating, so they're legit.

Make sure your car is tuned properly. Mine didn't last because of running too rich, but I returned it to the place I bought it from and he sent me a new one. I sold it and bought a resonator/test pipe for $30. When it's time to smog test my car I just swap downpipes with the stock converter. I think this is the best solution, otherwise it's just a matter of time before any aftermarket converter starts to rattle.

Get a used 2.5" or 3" cat, hollow it out, and drive a straight pipe through it. Cats cost power, add to heavy metal particulate in the atmosphere, and you don't need one to pass 4 gas emissions with a Honda in good running order.

i already have a gutted cat with a straight pipe.
maybe i should just get a resonator instead of a cat. do you think a resonator alone will lessen the snappiness and loudness of my exhuast just as a cat would?

That's why I got a resonator instead of just a straight pipe. My car sounds good, and doesn't drone on the highway.
