Default car wont start when hot??

Hey guys i am having a problem, sorry if this is not the correct forum...My car starts fine when it is cold and when it heats up to operating temp if i turn it off than it will not start back up until it cools off again. What could be the problem? My tech is thinking either the main relay or it is a pickup on the distributer going bad and because my AEM is set up to need to see 3 clean signals before the car starts that it may not be getting these clean signals because a pickup on the distributer is bad(i have individual coils). Also he thinks that something in the AEM just has to be changed maybe. Any help at all is golden thanks a lot.

Main relay, main relay, main relay!!! To make sure, if it happens again, check to see if ur fuel pump primes and listen to hear the fuel relay CLICK when u turn the key to the ON position. If it is broken, u can just resolder it or buy a new one.

Did this happen after a tune, or just out of the blue?

Exact same thing happened in my ef. All you had to do was tap the main relay with a screw driver and the fuel pump would prime. And it did only happen when the engine/ outside temp was hot

x2........ Looks like u got a bit of diagnosing to do. Check to see what it is you're not getting, spark or fuel. Then go from there.

i will have to check that each coil has its own ignitor.

i will change the main relay and see if that makes a difference.

This used to happen to a 93 Chevy S-10 I used to have. The solenoid that pushes the sprocket out in the starter used to get so hot, that the contacts will come loose or not make good contact. After the engine was cool enough, the truck would start without hesitation. I know they are 2 different types of cars but it's worth taking a look.

You need more cranking fuel in that temperature range that you are having a problem starting. Usually you need more cranking fuel when it is cold and start taking away cranking fuel as it gets hot but you always need more fuel than what the base fuel map has during cranking no matter what the engine temperature is.

In that case...I would do try and swap the entire distributor with a working one.
