Hows your crankcase ventilation set up?

Edit: I really dont like the look of that flow of the return line.

theres a dip in it where the oil flow should be smooth.

oil might be spraying out and burning on your manifold. I had that same problem.

Yes. If the oil isn't draining properly, you can cook your bearings in the turbo. Seals do go out if the oil is being cooked right next to them! Fix that return line

The lowest point of the return line should be where it enters the oil pan.

and this one, short & sweet!

But please, never do this! Shandy was an actual company that made turbo kits for motorcycles. Look at the oil return line!

looks like you need to get rid of the adapter on your turbo and use a flange with the an fitting already on there so you can get some clearance.

though i'm not convinced this is your issue since you said its black smoke.

Is there a lot of moisture around? Do you have a high flow cat? Is it always black & white smoke or only when you're on it, decelerating, at a stop, vac, etc...

The more info the merrier.

160-180 is what i always went by.. but others might use another number.

do a compression and leakdown to determine the health of the engine. Another way to tell is when the oil pressure starts to get lower slowly over time, then its on its way out and you have limited time.. so save up for another engine or be ready to tear this one down.

If they don't seat properly, they go pretty fast!
