Car shut off after boosting!!
A little bit ago I was driving my car and I boosted about twice (not even full boost). My check engine light came on and the a/f guage on my car read very lean and the car started to sputter when not running boost. I went to turn in the turn lane and the car shut off. I turned the car off completely and the car started again fine with no problems. What could be causing this problem because this could get very annoying.

Re: Car shut off after boosting!! (hooked_up_gsr)
I dont know I have not had a chance to look yet. It just happened to me when I was on my way to work. For some reason the car started running very lean (probably in limp mode) and started hesitating a lot. Could it be the old injectors in the car not giving the car enough fuel?

Re: Car shut off after boosting!! (spun Vtec)
i have this exact same problem a few times in the past year, cept it just runs bad but doesn't actually die. The code that comes up is MAP sensor. Everytime after I restart it though, it works like normal, so it's not a big deal.

i'm sure you aren't actually going lean, but possibly your 02 sensor or the voltage from the 02 sensor is going in error. Check your plugs to be more certain though.
Check the code and hopefully that can lead you somewhere. The fact that restarting the car erases the problem points to something the ecu is detecting. check your harnesses and make sure all your sensors are working okay.

if you think it is your map sensor you can test it with a voltmeter find the signal wire and it should read 1.3-1.4 volts ish you will know when you find it it is the only one similar to that number then give it some gas at idle and the number should go up quite a bit.

Thanks for all of you suggestions so far. I talked to the guy at DRAG and he said that the MAP Bypass Valve could be bad and gave me a way to check that out. If this is the case, that should solve most of the problems. I will have to wait for the weekend to try it out.
