Default Car running awfull, im running out of ideas...

This started about a month ago

I overboosted to about 15psi and blew a charge pipe

Ever since then when you rev it up, even in neutral, it breaks up bad. Its like a "bubbling" or gurlgling coming from the exhaust

when driving itll do this until around 4k rpm, then drive normal, then completely cut out at around 6k ( you can get it to rev higher in the higher gears)

in 3rd gear it will drive ok and will build boost but still eventually cuts out

it is not spooling the turbo as well as before

I have changed out the spark plugs, wires, brand new distributor, checked all vacuum lines, brand new TPS

i have NO CODES

compression is 210 across the board

FUEL Pressure is PERFECT

Car is tuned by Xenocron on Crome Pro

ive tried several spare chips and also reset my ecu prolly 50x atleast

i have no clue where to look next

So you havent pulled the head at all to see if you bent any valves or if any of your pistons have any holes or contact marks on them?

Could possibly be a bearing on its way out as well.

since his compression is good
i doubt its the valves being bent or a hole in the piston. but a leakdown test wont hurt.

have you check your timing?

I didnt pull the head because like he said the compression was good.

i have not checked the timing since i dont have a timing gun but the cams are on so i dont think the timing belt jumped....

Like all problem solving start big and work small. At this point it sounds mechanical and not tune related, unless I am missing something here. It sounds like ignition or fuel related as well. For fuel, do you have a wideband? For igntion sounds like everything related has been changed except for the coil..what about that?

Just giving some ideas, hope you find what it is

The coil isnt in the distributor? Sorry if thats a dumb question i learn about things by dealing with them and ive never had to deal with that before

the car was tuned on a wideband but i dont have one in car.

You guys are lucky I'm EXTREMELY bored right now ...Honda-tech is my only fun

Hope this can help. If you want the helms manual on PDF I'd be glad to e-mail it too you so you can trouble-shoot a little. This sounds like a real problem and un-like some people that never give full detail, YOU did so to that.

thanks man i tried my best.

the thing is i replaced the ENTIRE dizzy with a brand new one so from the pic you posted that means everything was in the dizzy. Anything ignition related outside of the dizzy that couldve gone bad? Only thing i can think of is timing but i cant imagine that would get screwy from an overboost

my only other thoughts are possibly map sensor but i have zero codes

its the stock b16 obdI

some have said that it can literally break if it sees too much boost but shouldnt it throw a code?

no, they don't always throw codes. I have 10 spare map sensors if you want to try one. if you are still in clifton park that is...

So it overboosted past 11psi on the stock map sensor? $10 says you put a new map sensor in and the thing runs better than new

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Mag00n, let us know what happens, don't just let the thread die when you get it running correctly again.

so will it always mess up if you go past the limts of the stock map sensor. i spiked to 12 and i dont know if its since then, but it hasnt been building boost liek it did before. in mycase it sounds liek i just have a boost leak because the car runs fine. it throws a code here and ther ebut turns off when i turn off the car. i think its because since the chip is tuned, its not seeing the right air its supposed to since ihave a leak and getting WAY too rich. well, thats whats happening. i have a wideband

Maybe on a Maf car. It shouldnt do that with a map sensor. especially if its chipped,it wou just stay in that cell region, correct?

correct! i've run 15 psi on a stock mapsensor and it didnt blow up . Possibly having a dirty o2 sensor causing it to run like complete ***?? does it do it when your WOT or just partial throttle?

Yeah, I'm not agreeing with the blown Map sensor thing. I've TUNED cars for 14PSI when they only have a stock map sensor. I haven't talked to him in a while but it's been over a year and it still worked then . You should try it anyway though since it's quick and free
