your rad. fan working properly?

all ground wires hooked up properly?

Could posibly just be a thermostat

any white smoke out of exhaust?

Does it keep rising or rise a little and stop?

Sounds to me like your fan isn't working... When your moving the air passing through the front of the car spins the fan, but when you stop the fan is no longer moving... Fan switch maybe...? Does the fan come on...?

Most likely the radiator went bad if not um......

It might be to late and u might have a cracked head.

Has the car ever over heated???

When the motor cools down open the radiator cap and dip you finger in pull it out and start to rub it together if it seems a little greasy or oily then you have a crack in your head as a result of the oil leaking into the coolant.

not neccesarily bud, I have over heated a honda engine (the same engine quite a few times) buried the gauge, and the worst I got was a blown headgasket (which I dont think was related), and nither the head or block was warped. Also just because there is oil in the water dosnt mean a cracked head more than likely it would be a blown head gasket.

I agree that you dont want to overheat and that it needs to be fixed right away but your taken it a little to drastcily.

Most likely its the fan switch.

or a thermostat.

A thermostat is like a switch. Once it gets hott, it expands and allows it to open to let the coolant flow through the motor. But when your thermostat is broken, and stuck shut the coolant is flowing thought the block that has been through the radiator.

Also, if your car never warms up, your thermostat is stuck open.

It could easily be the thermostat or the switch.
Check the radiator overflow tank. Fill it up.
Change the thermostat just to be safe, its only a few dollar job.

Goodluck
