Can't Decide Type 24 or Type 31
Hey guys, I'm really on the fence with this one. I'm getting my Greddy Kit within a month, I have to wait cause the Type 24 is on Back order, not to mention the great price I got on it, 696.40. My question was, does it really matter in a performance way if Im keeping the boost low - 5.5-6.5 psi with the size difference with the intercoolers?? This is my first kit and im not looking to break any lang speed records. Here are some pics below, I mean the type 24 does look SEXY!

Re: Can't Decide Type 24 or Type 31 (FredoSP)
For anything under 15psi and in the T3/T04e range (or smaller) I'd stick with the smaller Type 31 FMIC from GReddy.
You got a price of 670something for the larger Type 24??
EDIT: I meant $696 for the Type 24 (very good price).

I got the kit and IC and BOV for Wholesale price.
FYI:
Greddy Kit $ 2,204.60
Type 24 $ 696.60
Type S BOV $ 160.00
Flange 25.00
Shipping 50.00
----------------------------------
Total $ 3,143.00 Me Happy I'll call them today and see how much the type 31 is, thanks I was giving this some thought and I think the type 24 is over kill for my Boost level ( < 15 psi ).

I say get the Type 31, like i am getting. The 31 is good to 350hp, the 24 is good to 500hp. If you are not planning to boost past 17 psi, then get the Type 31. Also, if you do plan to boost past 17 psi, you are reaching the limits of the 18G you have. Hope that helps you out. if you have anymore questions i will probable call you tonight.

hehe, i used to say things liek that, too "oh i'm only planning on boosting 5-6, 7 psi." you WILL turn it up, or will want too. boost is addictive. get the bigger one. you'll save money... instead of buying stuff, selling it for way less then you paid, instead of waiting and buying all badass stuff and doing everythign at once. i would have saved thousands. food fir thought

glad to see you like my car....lol I like my Type 24. The only reason i got it thought was cause i bought the kit used and the guy already precut his bumper support so i traded w/ him, otherwise i would've just went w/ the Type 31.
Here's another pic of my car:

I dont see how the 24 is better than the 31. Granted its what like 3" higher, but isnt it better to have longer tubes than more tubes for cooling. Also the extra 3" (I dunno if thats actually how much just roughly) looks as though its covered by the bumper support, where as the 31 stops at the top of the support. Anyone have any other oppions?

I believe you have that backwards, but I'm not sure and I don't know why either way would be better, but there is a reason out there somewhere!
