Yeah, its not all that different, except that with the AEM you must do the tuning in the boost comp, and air temp comp tables to get it right.

The Autronic is a bit more automated and sophisticated.

The AEM setup allows very rapid manual tuning of the boost sites and so forth, but where they fall down {in my oppinion} is with the air temp compensation tables.

First, in that the amount of fuel added or subtracted is defined by the user, rather than the laws of physics,

Second in that the table doesn't account for changes in air temperature as it travels through the engine from the measuring point. This is always a function of air speed, and the differential temperature bewteen the measured air temps and the coolant temps.

Having said that, the AEM boost comp does a better job than most and is probably the next best thing.

i know of some people using a Techedge WBO2 with the autronic SM2, so it can be done. They did have to do a bit of fiddling with it to get it working however.

Everyone i know who has used autronic swears by it, and i'll be using it for my next project for certain, and also it'll get a go in my brother's mitsu. Its slightly cheaper down here than in the US though, which makes it a little easier

A little OT, Ben when are you next in Australia? I learned of your last seminars here too late to attend one, but i wont be missing it next time around!
