CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?
My fiancee is going turbo on his car and he needs the intercooler, oil feed & return lines and if I can find one a new downpipe, problem is, I look all over online for a downpipe and none of the connections look correct, also as for the oil lines I am honestly not sure what to get. also i remember what the previous intercooler looked like what else do i need to know when getting it? The whole thing is he has been, for the past year talking about going turbo again and he just keeps putting it off for my benefit, I want to get all the stuff he needs without him knowing and just give it to him and let him do his thing. I cant trust people he knows because to make it easy, everything he does to the car they try to mess up if they help him, so I am reaching out to all of you here and hoping someone can help me. ill try to get pics of the turbo he has, i know its Greddy and 18g but thats all im sure of at this moment, maybe even if someone is in chicago and can help me out i would be greatful. Anyone? Please?

oil feed and return lines depend on what turbo he is going to be using. Some run different sizes. Does he have the turbo now? If so post pics some people might be able to help more with the down pipe.

OK, without trying to come off like a dick.. But if this turbo is the only thing he has for the project, it might be better to start off with just a fresh new kit..
That turbo looks like its seen better days. im sure you can rebuild it or sell it and use the funds for the whole project.
Heres a kit that just needs injectors, fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator and some tuning.

Its alot easier/cheaper to buy good quality parts the 1st time vs. going cheap then have to replace them down the road. Who wants to buy the same part twice... Remember, going fast isnt cheap and if he put you before his own dreams, then thats saying a whole lot about your relationship. (i went turbo 1st, then spent $$ on the GF. I figured if she stuck around during the build/brokness, she would be a great gf)
So thats my opinion..keep us posted.

That turbo has ingested something and IMHO believe that the person needs to start fresh from scratch.
My favorite recommendation because Greg is the role model of a good reputable business

Your not coming off as a dick at all, but 2000 isn't really available to me to be able to get him a new setup which honestly that's what I wanted to do, but I know its unlikely... anyways the Turbo ran just fine when he took it off his old car, no problems at all...
That's never a good idea, I'm sorry to say. But using Spawne32's point, In this case it is better to start over. the reason being is that turbo may seem ok, but from the looks of it (unless the picture you took isn't focused well), that turbo is already damaged and would not be wise to build anything around.
Perhaps its time to stop, re-evaluate your funds and wait for a while before you go out and throw good money after bad. (hopefully this isn't his only mode of transportation, but if it isn't, stop, save, and get the better stuff from jump street. He'll appreciate it, (and you) more for doing this right the first time, than to start piecing something together from an already worn turbo.

to be fair to ebay turbo kits, ive seen them last a while, the things that scare me the most with those kits are the wastegates and blow off valves.
So to be "fair" as you so kindly put it, those e-bay guys don't play fair.
are we really gonna get into a pissing contest about company's that feed the honda market lol people should do what is best for what they can afford for their car, not what some company wants
I will not get into any contest with anyone, but as an American business owner you can understand my inherent bias against many e-bay "kit" sellers. If you think that continuing such economic behaviour is going to keep other legit people interested in the Honda market, you will see in a couple of short years that it will not happen. It is that type of thinking which is why Spoolin performance, Endyn, Renown, and others who have been around for years, are slowing down to minimum operation. So continue as you will. It is your car, after all.
But that does not mean that one should endorse such economically bad decisions on others just to "try it out" when they don't know the pros and cons about what purchasing that crap can create. I'm sorry if my comments seem rather self-righteous, as that's not my intent. However, this topic does not relate to the OP's thread, therefore I will cease all conversation regarding it. But feel free to talk about anything else. You know I don't hold a grudge. ;-)

The car is his/our only mode of transportation- other then the crappy *** CTA... after talking over with him (without really saying I was trying to help him) he told me he is wants to put the turbo back on the car because he wants to sell the car. Well I put the car up for sale on CL, without the turbo and yea, no real offers all bs, scammers, ppl playing games.. He wants to sell it to get us both vehicles.. I am sorry to have bothered you guys... Thanks
