can i use a warlboro 255 intank pump with an fmu?
Hey folks,
I have a 12:1 fmu and the inline pump that came with my turbo kit. I also have an intank warlboro 255 can i use that instead of the inline? The reason I ask is cuz i want to install my turbo kit but don't want the hassle of wiring up an inline pump. I need to get my car running so i can drive it from RI to NY for the hondata install/tune but i don't to bother installing the inline. I hope that makes sense.

is it the high pressure pump?
Either way you should be fine.I'm using a holley 255lph high pressure intank pump in my set-up.
How much boost do you plan to run?

yes it's the high pressure pump. i was going tu run 6.5 psi til i get the hondata installed. So I can run an intank with the fmu and have no problems? Is this correct?

I know it will supply enough fuel for my set up i'm just curious how it will run. will it idle funny or rich or anything like that? Do I have to turn the fuel pressure down via a fuel pressure regulator?

I am soon to be boosting my D16Y8 and will only be running around 5 psi. I am wanting to run a 12:1 FMU and a intank if possible..But I guess this post answers that. (itr449, free bump for ya.)

Re: can i use a warlboro 255 intank pump with an fmu? (flat-blk-HB)
My brother in his teg running 6.5 lbs of boost used a walbro 255HP intank and a 12:1 fmu. He didnt have any problems. He was a bit rich, but nothing major. He ran like that for about a 7 months.
I'm actually going to run 6.5 lbs on my b16a3 sol and use a 12:1 fmu and walbro 255Hp intank.
Most people say that you need the inline to supply more pressure, so that the fmu can function better. either way, w/ a 255HP and a 12:1 you should be ok.

Yes you will need to lower the fuel pressure at idle via a fuel pressure regulator. When i installed my pump it raised my fuel pressure up to about 56psi so i bought a aem fpr to drop it down about 40psi

we have been through this soooooo many times. intank fuel pumps cannot support high pressures that you run w/ FMUs. They are meant to flow lots of volume between 40-70psi pressure, not 140psi like u run on fmu.
if u r going hondata just install the intank and be careful.
I ran on the walbro "high pressure" 255/L intank w/ my car on 8psi and even though it accelerated good, when i put the inline in it was like 30hp faster.

how did he drop the pressure? I have a B&M adj FPR and I can't turn the fuel pressure down....i am turning it the correct way also

That's what I was wondering. Typically people install a aftermarket FPR in order to get *higher* than stock pressures, so the stock FPR usually yields the lowest fuel pressures you can get. At least I thought so...

why did the fuel pump raise the fuel pressure?

what kind of pump did u install?
what kind of pump did u install?
Mine works fine for my fmu set-up at 9psi.
I'm also runing a 6:1 fmu and 310cc injectors instead of a 12:1 and stock

thats odd because my walbro 255hpl pump is a high volume high pressure pump as well and when i installed it my fuel pressure stayed the same as stock.

I guess he doesnt trust you Personally I dont know if the intank would work, but I have always been told that you want to use an inline with a fmu setup....but most of the people that posted in this thread said they used the intank without problems (although I bet they never hooked it up to a wideband....)
