If you can, keep the stock fuel filter!

The only real reason why anyone would want to use the russel or aeromotive fuel filter is when they go with a big external fuel pump with steal braided lines from the pump to the rail.

Also a word of advice, If your going to use the russel or aeromotive use the PAPER ELEMENT. The metal element for aeromotive is only 100 micron. The bigger the micron the better!!!

Yeah, that's your best choice. The stock fuel filter does a pretty good job!

I'm guessing a higher micron means better flow, but then lets through bigger particles.

hmm not quite, it's exactly the opposite.

100 micron = the "weave" is bigger so bigger particles will go through. Flows better.

1000 micron= the "weave" is small so only very little particles can go through.

I would recommend a filter before your bosch pump. You want to make sure crap from the tank does not clog the fuel pump. Consider it cheap insurance.

I would use that one over the stock stuff. I put mine on in the summer time and I picked up 3 extra psi by ommitting the stock fuel filter. Stock filter has too many bends in it. First going in the filter , then inside the filter and another bend coming out. I think the stock filter is a pain in the *** to change and was not meant for high hp applications. Keep it simple and get rid of the stock stuff. It will make your life alot easier in the future.

No, generally the smaller the number, the smaller the largest particle size that can come through, unless you can quote something from the manufacturer specifically. My info comes from what I use in my job......

So for better "filtering" you want as small a number as possible......of course that won't flow as well (ie, don't use the 0.22 micron filters I use on a daily basis for your car!)

Not flaming, just FYI. Don't want someone to buy something with the incorrect info.
