Default Can I drive 20km without a downpipe?

I just put a D15B turbo in my car, haven't started it up yet but I need to get a downpipe made... Can I drive the car 22km to a shop with no downpipe?

you should be ok, it will be loud as hell, and it will get hot under the hood, i suggest leaving the hood off while driving it and roll your windows down so you dont inhale alot of exhaust fumes

I wouldn't do it. Since the turbine flange is facing sideways Id be concerned with it melting whatever is within a few feet of it. Not to mention your entire engine bay will be black. Maybe have the shop fab the first half of the downpipe for you to drive there. All you need is the flange welded to a 90* elbo facing down and they could finish the rest when you got there.

I'd be more worried about driving it without tuning than a open downpipe, just make sure its not in the way to catch anything on fire.

The ecu was tuned while this motor was in a different car.
I swapped it into my car, with the ecu. Same fuel system, same turbo. Only thing different is ramhorn manifold instead of a log.

You CAN drive it there but it is not recommended. my buddy did this with his car and he melted his fan and shroud, not to mention how dirty it got.
