I have had alot of questions about the cam trigger setup we offer to get rid of the distributor. Here is the bracket that holds the sensor that I made for Arturbo's car. I'm looking into getting some more cnc'd, but for now they're one offs. For anyone interested in the trigger setup, it'll work with most aftermarket ecu's with configuarable trigger modes. It uses 13 magnets on the cam gear. 12 are evenly spaced have the same pole facing out and 1 is placed in between 2 of the others with the opposite pole facing out. The sensor is a dual pole hall sensor, it triggers two different wires according to magnetic poles. You will configure your ecu to see 6 crank triggers per engine revolution and the cam trigger will come once per rev. The number of magnets may differ with different systems, I know on Art's autronic it needs 5 total, 4 for crank and 1 for cam. Remeber, since the crank trigger signals are coming from the cam, you only get half the pulses for the magnets you have, since it spins at half engine speed.


I haven't mounted the sensor in these pics yet, i'm waiting for some more magnets to come in. The sensor has to be in a pretty exact location since the magnets must pass across the middle of the sensor. The magnets are installed directly into the cam gear facing outward and the sensor will thread into the bracket facing the cam gear.

The target price is $550 with the bracket and everything, but that depends on the cost of the bracket. The kit ready to go without the bracket is $450.

Vibration on this part would be bad!! I could go little lighter, but I like the way it looks and while we are watching the weight with this car, we're not looking at it in grams yet. lol

Yes, you could, but for full sequential operation you'd still have to use a cam trigger too. This does both, cam and crank trigger in one. Another plus is that it's a hall sensor, which has an 8v square wave output. The oem honda sensors are magnetic and have low voltage sine wave signal that's very succeptable to RF noise. All in all, the square wave is a much cleaner signal.

Some do, some detect something magnetic like steel. All hall sensors have a square wave output though.
