Would there be any situation with Honda motor's where you would recommend something other than stock?

I do know that milling the head will affect the cam timing. I do not however, know whether or not they need to be advanced or retarded.

I'm kinda wondering if a fully built honda motor would benefit from cam gears? would the money spent be worth it performance wise or just for cosmetics?

Cool, thanks! Anybody have an idea of which way I should begin advancing or retarding them?
