Is this normal wear on the cam caps? When i run my finger nail across, it doesn't catch. If it's not normal, can i get it resurfaced?

 

upp for ryan...i had the same **** on my cams and caps...i re-installed the head, i think this may have something to do with me burning alot of oil....maybe not...but they still work fine. 90k boosted on stock gsr head. revving to 8.5k

 

i have a head that is way worse than that, had some deep scratches, i sanded them out with some 400 grit, than 600grit.. its working fine for me now.

i think thats fine,
i was looking under my valvecover today
and I noticed alil of that on one of my cam lobes(sohc)

engine works great.

especially if you cant even feel anything by running ur nail over it,
i'm sure it's fine.

 

yup, i'll smooth it out abit or just have it done when the head goes out for a valve job

 

i think you are fine , mine look the same way , it is only the ones next to the cam gears , i think the tension from the belt does that to them

 

I agree its fine. I could catch my finger nail on in some spots on mine. I buffed it down with a dremel and threw it back together.
