has anybody tried just grounding directly to the battery? Hook the power and ground up for the TE unit directly to the battery as well as ground the 02 sensor ground right to the battery. That would probably work well also.

ok i meant on the cable that powers your wb (the power and ground). i took the ground from there instead of pin 6 and the for the wb vout, i used pin 7 of the display.

what i did was put my multimeter on pin d14 on the ecu (o2 sensor input) and tried several different grounds as ground reference and when i grounded to where i took my 12v source and ground from (cigarette lighter) the voltages within rom editor and my multimetered agreed.</TD></TR></TABLE>

I will play with this a little more next week when I have time. Thanks.

My power is coming from the fuse box....I think. I can't remember.

Up for the night owls.

Damn I wish I had more time to play with this.

So, you run an additional wire from the display cable connector to the o2 input in the ECU?

Would you mind giving us your specific voltage-&gt;lambda mapping that you use in your romeditor? I can't decide on a good way to split the values given on techedge's site (because there are simply fewer available cells to enver voltage-&gt;afr values in the romeditor software than given on the techedge site). (That is, you using v1.0 because I guess the v1.5 mapping is linear)</TD></TR></TABLE>

I thought I would bump this up. My voltages are dead on from the output of the techedge to the display in Rom Editor. I got a tighter conversion table from DooDoo. Seems better but still off from the Rom editor. Th leaner the mixture (higher the number) more off it is. As much as 1.5 in some cases. It seems to be only about .5-.7 off in the normal range though. So, I talked to Gruvy and he said the display is off. Now I go by the Rom Editor and datalog. Seems great so far.

Gruvy, care to share your techedge calibration with us? I just want to check with what I have from DooDoo.

Thanks in advance.

i am also using torin's afr conversion chart (thanks again btw). rom editor likes to round the numbers but using his conversion, rom ed. only rounds it in the hundredths which is fine for me. i also dont really rely on my TE display either because that needs calibration too, and to match it exactly as rom ed. is opening another can of worms. i just use it so i can see where in the ballpark i am.

copy and paste into a .reg file and then merge with your registry.

Awesome... thanks Gruvy.

Any thoughts on why my TE will read 2.54v-2.56v on my laptop with the sensor unplugged from the controller?

the TE unit should have a vout of about 2.5 without the sensor connected by defualt

That's correct... which is puzzling because if I read it with a voltmeter, it is correct at 2.5v... but reading it via the romeditor, its 2.56v

i assume your using the old vesion 1.0? the voltage difference is probably because of the impedance difference between the TE unit and your ecu. i guess you could probably change your afr conversion accordingly or just remember youre running slightly richer

Well, I tried to use the chart that Peter gave us, and I realized that an increased impedance will drop the voltage, so I can't use his chart to modify it.

I would like to modify it, but I'm pretty sure its not a linear voltage change (i.e., I cant' subtract .05v from each value in the map to bring it back to normal)... so I don't know how to begin this one.
