C16 really needed? Will 110 be enuff?
Was just curious becuase i was starting to get prices on race gas, i can prob get c16, but at a considerablly higher cost from what i saw and harder to get. not readily avail like the Cam2(110)
i can get cam2 for $5.40 a gallon for smaller amounts and like $5.10 a gall for drums.
would 110 be enuff to support some insane HP without detonation .
my motor is about 9.0-9.3:1 in that range abouts.
What you guys think.

What boost and power levels are you expecting? If you have lower octane then you would want less timing in the tune, if you get higher octane you can advance the timing more and possibly get more power from it. My local race shop has had tests of pumpo gas to 116octane of somewhere around 20whp really.

is it safe to keep **** like that in bulk? i dunno people used to always tell me to keep an eye on stuff like that becuase 55 gallons of c16, something happens, there will be qwuite a crater where my garage and racecar once were.

C16 really isnt anymore unstable than regular fuel. The only thing I would recommend doing if you have a 55gal drum is to bleed off the air vapor inside the drum every so often so pressure dosnt build up in there and keep it out of sunlight.

Average price around here is $45 for 5 gallon drum of C16, well worth it if your doing a race gas tune. Has a heavier specific gravity than most other race fuels.

I agree. Actually it would be alot less volitle (sp?) than regular gas cause of the high octane rating. I wouldn't worry about storing it.
