A/C power loss with new engine
please help.
I have 9:1 pistons now and I find that with the ac on i get a definite power loss compared to when i was a stock engine. car pulls fine once it gets going but the load definitely seems higher than before. and when i come to a stop the car idles down really low (even stalled a couple of times) and then comes back up to normal steady idle.

You have two things that create drag, one is A/C one is Turbo. Turbo is backpressure you have to overcome and A/C is parasitic drag. Going to have more power loss compared to stock when you have two things creating powerloss until you come into boost (for turbo).

Haha yeah my turbo really slows me down until boost kicks in. Do you have a turbo? If so there maybe something wrong with it because my car is faster from 1 RPM all the way to 7000 RPM with the turbo as opposed to before!

reason 84 why not to lower compression when going turbo. nice and safe...but nice and slow when your not under boost.

Air Conditioning :D but it's bad because cold air is heaver so when you run it your car gains weight
Wouldn't getting an underdrive pully help w/ this? I'm just totally guessing here but that drives the accesories less and so frees up that HP for the engine

Even up here in Wisconsin during the summers will suck for a turbo. Its been like almost 100 degrees with high humidity for the past month or so. I can't live without my A/C,
